This week: Young Artist Competition winner Jaeden Hansen performs!

The winner of the 2019 Young Artists Competition, hornist Jaeden Hansen, is a recent graduate from Linn-Mar High School. He has been involved in many aspects of the music program throughout his high school career including Wind Ensemble, Jazz 1 (in which he plays bass), Marching Lions, and Symphony Orchestra. Jaeden is a three year All-Stater, spending two years in the All-State Band and one year in the All-State Orchestra, sitting principal chair in both ensembles. As a junior, he earned “Best in Center” honors at the IHSMA Solo/Ensemble Festival. Jaeden is the 2019 recipient of the Steven J Colton Band Scholarship and the John Philip Sousa Band Award and plans to study music education next fall at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. After one year of college he plans to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and then complete his degree at BYU.
