Robert Sternowski - Commissioner
Bob Sternowski has served on the Band Commission for 4 years. He is a retired Rockwell Collins engineer who now runs his own electronics business. Bob has over 50 years playing clarinet, sax, and tuba. You will see him as the occasional substitute on bari sax in the CRMB, but more often on his bari in the Marion Community jazz and concert band, the Stardusters big band, the Iowa Military Veterans Band, the Shrine parade band, and is the leader of the Marion Big Band. Bob lives in NE Cedar Rapids with organist/harpist/music-director wife Carolyn. They have three children, four [local] grandchildren to keep them amused, a cat and a guinea pig. Bob has been going to CRMB concerts since he first moved here in 1969, and has always enjoyed the concert band music genre (show tunes, marches, light classics) along with a good reason to go out and enjoy the beautiful summer weather and lovely parks.
